Question
I was just evaluated for lasik surgery and was determined to be a good candidate. I am 49 and have a prescription of -6.5 and -7.0. My corneal thickness is 575 and 598 with corneal steepness of 49. I have been recommended to have the Zyoptix customized bladeless lasik. The opthamolgist uses the DaVinci Bladeless laser. Is my cornea too steep?Answer
My experience with the DaVinci is limited, but it is possible that your cornea is too steep. It would not be too steep with the most common bladeless laser - Intralase.- Is it better to do one eye at a time (wait until one heals first before doing another eye) instead of having the lasik surgery for both eyes at the same time? Thank you.
- Can I go blind?
- Good Morning, I've had Lasek performed one month ago at a laser center in Manhattan. My right eye began to experience ghosting last week. Can you tell me the cause of this? Should this go away gradually over the next few months? Thanks.
- My vision is -6.00 (right) and -6.50 (right) eye. Is my vision too far gone to see 20/20 again? Will surgery even correct such poor vision?
- If you had to compare PRK with LASIK, which has the best safety record?
- I wear glasses for nearsightedness and lately must take them off to read as well. Can both problems be corrected with one laser surgery?
- can i wear contacts up to the time of eye surgery
- If my prescription is +6.00 can I wear contact lenses with +6.50 Thanks
- I would like to know if I can get lasik. I'm -4.50 and -6.5 on my other eye. Also on my right eye I have antigmatism. Can you help?
- Are you currently using the Eye-Q laser to treat eyes? If not, when to you expect the use the Eye-Q on patients? Thank you.
