Question

I was just evaluated for lasik surgery and was determined to be a good candidate. I am 49 and have a prescription of -6.5 and -7.0. My corneal thickness is 575 and 598 with corneal steepness of 49. I have been recommended to have the Zyoptix customized bladeless lasik. The opthamolgist uses the DaVinci Bladeless laser. Is my cornea too steep?

Answer

My experience with the DaVinci is limited, but it is possible that your cornea is too steep. It would not be too steep with the most common bladeless laser - Intralase.
