FAQ: Am I A Candidate?
- My vision is -6.00 (right) and -6.50 (right) eye. Is my vision too far gone to see 20/20 again? Will surgery even correct such poor vision?
- I would like to know if I can get lasik. I'm -4.50 and -6.5 on my other eye. Also on my right eye I have antigmatism. Can you help?

- Hi Doctor. I am currently being treated for dry eyes. My eye doctor has permenantly blocked both my upper & lower tear ducts to see if this helps before he puts me on rystasis (sp?). Right now everytime I put my contacts in, my corneas get highly inflamed. My questions to you is 2 part. Can I get the lasik with my tear ducts blocked & can I get the lasik with my corneas inflamed or do I have to wait till they are better? Thanks for your help. Tara Gaddy

- Hi, Looking at my contact lens case it says that my left eye is -7.00 -3.25 x 170 and my right eye is -8.00 -3.25 x 005. They are Frequency 55 Torics 8.4/14.4. My vision hasn't changed in the past 3 years, however the optometrist told me that my astigmatism was too strong for a Lasik procedure. I also have inverted eyelashes that fortunately don't scar my cornea because my contact lenses are "in the way" although my eyes are constantly red. Is is safe to do the Lasik procedure, both because of my astigmatism and especially since afterwards my eyelashes may cause further irritation?

- Hi I have had two consultations. One doctor told me my right cornea's measure around 475 microns & my left 390 microns. Where as the other doc said my right was 440 & my left 370. Either way both docs said they did NOT recommend lasik or prk. The second doc told me to leave my contacts out for a month & see if it changes my cornea thickness. My questions are can contacts actually make my cornea's thin? Do I really have a chance at lasik? & if there is no chance of lasik, is there ANY other procedures that can correct my vision? I was also told the I have extremely dry eyes & would have to use restasis for 30 days before (if at all) getting any procedures.
